Membership InformationThe Minot Rural Fire Department is a volunteer organization providing emergency services to a rural population of 5,800 in a district covering 275 square miles. The Fire Department has a paid Fire Chief and a volunteer membership of 40 firefighters and 3 dispatchers. Our firefighters are required to participate in department trainings and are required to obtain related emergency services certifications such as CPR, First Aid, Auto Extrication, Hazmat Awareness, and Firefighter 1. New members must complete a probationary period of 6 months and complete some entry level qualifications before their probationary period expires. It is imperative that you consider the time commitment involved with being an active volunteer firefighter before you apply. We invite you to schedule a visit with a department officer or senior firefighter to discuss what is involved and what you can expect as a new member. We encourage you to visit with us and tour the station before making your decision to apply for membership. We also suggest that you discuss your interest with your family. A successful firefighter needs the support of his/her family. If you would like to tour our station or would like more information please contact us. Membership applications are available at the station. The station address is: 400 31st Avenue SW in Minot. You may also view and print our membership application below and submit
it to us in person after completing it. Please do not mail us your
application.
